I was responsible for helping ensure the security and safety at G4S security stations in Burlington, Fort Madison, and Mediapolis, Iowa. Monitored security cameras, alarms, and safety equipment, and conducted regular patrols of the premises, as well as inspecting vehicles that entered the facility.

English Language Institute – Fort Collins

I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, and Olgii, Bayan-Olgii, Mongolia, spending one year in each location, working directly with the school leadership to ensure a quality education for students of varying proficiency levels, and sponsoring several students for an English camp in Mongolia. This was done by assessing their English knowledge at the beginning and end of the school year, and granting a scholarship to the top students to attend the camp.

I learned how to speak Kazakh and to read Cyrillic during my time in Mongolia, and achieved a basic understanding of Mandarin while in China.

I learned how to work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, and helped develop a healthy, accepting work environment with all my co-workers. I taught junior high and high school students in Mongolia, and college sophomores in China.
